During my trip to Atlanta, I had the pleasure of working with the Zoebisch family and taking their first, official family photos. Their 3-year-old kept me on my toes and had me running, spinning and shooting at the same time. Their 6-year-old daughter is the most poised little girl I have ever met. She said she wants to be a model and make a million dollars so I told her I would be back to help build her portfolio.
Trenna is a hottie and I wanted to remind her of that. After her family portrait session, I sent her husband out of the room and did a shoot just for her. She had a beautiful, baby boy in January and I could relate to feeling like my body is not where I want it to be or getting so caught up in playing mommy I forget to take care of myself. So this session was all about her and a little gift from me to another mother who should always know how amazing she is.
I’ve said it before but it bears repeating, I love working with curvy girls. Destiny is the perfect example of how many of my client consultations flow:
“I am not sure if I will look good in the pictures.”
“Maybe I should wait until I lose 10 pounds.”
“Have you ever worked with big girls?”
All reasonable statements and questions but I reassured her and the others that there is an inherent beauty in all women; what I do behind the camera just brings out what is already there. This shoot with Destiny will always stick with me because she pushed past all of those nerves and totally trusted me to produce images she (and her hubby) would love.
